Muslim Funeral Services of Washington (MFSWA)
Providing Islamic funeral services for the Puget Sound Muslim community at a reasonable cost through a cost-sharing model.
- Service begins when they reach 300 active members
- Estimated burial cost per member per event: goal is to keep it under $50 per burial
- Primary service area: Greater Seattle (provisions available for members who pass away outside the service area)
How it works
- Step 1: Register by applying on the website and paying the membership fee.
- Step 2: Admin reviews the application and may request additional documentation. Admin approves the membership.
- Step 3: Membership becomes active 90 days after approval. Until then, approved members contribute to burial expenses of members but cannot use the financial benefit themselves.
Membership fee (one-time, lifetime)
- Principal member: $200
- Spouse: $100
- Each dependent (under 22): $50
- Administration fee: $25
- A unit of membership includes husband, wife, and dependent children under 22.
- Membership is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Dependents over 22 must register separately.
- No monthly or yearly fees.
